Joseph Owono to Appear Before Special Criminal Court Today

Joseph Owono who piloted the affairs of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) as chairman of the Normalisation Committee from 2013 to 2015 will this Thursday, December 10, answer questions before the Special Criminal Court as a witness in the management of State funds disbursed to ensure brilliant participation of the Cameroon football team in the 2014 Brazil World Cup and the African Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea in 2015.

 Owona was at the helm of FECAFOOT up to the recent election of Tombi a Rocko as new president of the football body.

 The summons of Owono is contained in a correspondence addressed to him by the Chief of the specialized investigation division of the Special Criminal Court, Enyegue Mbolong. The Yaounde-based French language daily newspaper, Mutations, citing the correspondence, said Owono has to be at the Specialised Judicial Police section of the court at 9: 00 a.m.
