Like all beginnings of the month, the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), published this Thursday, January 4th, 2016, a new ranking of national football teams.
The national team of Cameroon is engaged
in a real yo-yo. After winning two places in the month of January, the
Indomitable Lions lost up to five places this February. The quadruple
champions of Africa went from 57th to 62nd. Worse, Cameroon is out of
the Top Ten best teams of the continent. On the contrary the team of
South Africa, next opponent of Cameroon on March 26th, 2016 at the new
Omnisport stadium of Limbe on behalf of the playoffs of the AFCON Gabon
2017, earned a spot (75th).
All National teams at the top of the
African hierarchy, experienced resounding falls in the second month of
the year 2016. Ivory Coast remains in the lead but lost 9 places (28th).
Algeria, which was second in January came down to third place, having
lost 8 places (36th). And Ghana who was third, left the podium after
losing 8 places (41st). Cape Verde is the new second in Africa with six
places won (33rd) in addition.
Belgium also maintains its top spot globally, ahead of Argentina and Spain respectively. All were flat.
See you on March 3rd, 2016 for a new edition of Fifa ranking.
